Long story, short
- For a fast-track anti-ageing starter routine, Marcia recommends four products: a cleansing balm, a morning moisturiser, a Super Retinol Moisture Cream at night, and a weekly face polish to clear dead cells.
- Persistent dark circles and morning puffiness need a dual approach: a Ceramide Eye Roller plus brightening concealer in the AM, and the roller again with Super Retinol Eye Cream in the PM.
- Marcia takes Beauty Pie’s full supplement range daily, and adds magnesium from a separate source; the Super Collagen Powder (one scoop with water and apple juice each morning) is a personal favourite not included in the standard kit.
- Highlighted or heat-styled hair benefits most from bond-repair formulas rich in amino acids — look for pea proteins in shampoo and conditioner, and a Quinoa-derived Amino Acid treatment for deep shaft penetration.
BEAUTY PIE founder and all-round beauty and wellness guru Marcia Kilgore on skincare, supplements, healthy hair and more — from your most recently-asked beauty questions.
Q: What’s the easiest way to start an anti-ageing skincare routine?
A: Four products, safe for all skin types, that will make your skin healthier, fresher, dewier and smoother in a week. (Of course don’t stop using them just because the week is up — keep GOING. After a month, you can add in some boosters.)
Start with Plantastic Apricot Butter Cleansing Balm (for cleansing), Super Healthy Skin Ultimate Anti Aging Cream (in the morning), the Super Retinol Moisture Cream (in the evening), and a tube of Wonderscrub (use as directed, two to three mornings a week, to get rid of dead cells).
To make it easy, we’ve put it together as a one-click — get the Anti-Aging Kit.
Q: What’s the best way to tackle puffy eyes and dark circles?
A: Puffy eyes and dark circles come from a variety of issues. If you’ve got chronic puffiness that never goes away, the problem could be ‘fat pockets’ (which would need surgical removal), but if your problem is morning puff and/or dark circles, you tackle that with massage & vaso-stimulation AM and PM, two powerful eye creams, and a ‘super’ brightener. We have an Eye Brightening System to do exactly this.
Five items. Use four in the morning. Two at night (nobody said battling dark circles would be easy). In the AM? Roll away puffiness with the Ceramide Eye Roller, then apply a dab of SuperLuminous Undereye Genius, and blend in with our awesome angled concealer brush! In the PM? Roll away puffiness again with the Ceramide Eye Roller, then tackle dryness and fine lines with the Super Retinol Eye Cream.
Q: Which supplements does Marcia Kilgore take every day?
A: I take each of our supplements daily (plus magnesium, which I buy elsewhere, because ours hasn’t launched yet). In fact, this is a picture of my kit (in that everything-goes pink zip-up bag). And you can now buy this exact same line-up to make it easy for you to get started with your own routine if you want to.
Editor’s Note: Super Collagen Powder is not in the kit, but Marcia also highly recommends it! (1 scoop in a shaker with water and a shot of apple juice every morning).
Q: How does Marcia look after highlighted and heat-styled hair?
A: Highlighted and heat-styled hair needs constant repair. If your hair is fine or thinning and highlighted or coloured, you need products that focus on bond repair.
This shampoo and conditioner each contain pea proteins, which are rich in amino acids and help protect hair from damage, while the Repair Treatment contains ColourPlus™ Amino Acids from Quinoa, which penetrate into the hair shaft for powerful protection: Super Healthy Hair Daily Strengthening Shampoo, Super Healthy Hair Daily Weightless Conditioner and Super Healthy Hair Elastic-Repair Treatment.
